:ninja:

Just for the opinions page, did ANYONE watch the Fan Network's streaming of the Kiltie Klassic last night?

Or did the plug get pulled on it? I packed up what little souvies I had brought and left before scores were announced. I thought the show was pretty good, especially seeing the Racine Scouts 3 times this week.

Pat

Fan Network didn't stream the show. However, it is now available as on-demand performances by all four corps.... plus the Chops exhibition....

Until they compete head to head, I'm not putting much stock in placements and comparative scoring. DCA panel or no DCA panel. Without their competition there, the number they receive is completely void of any comparison to the teams competing here over in the East. Its the same as comparing Bucs standings now to Cabs, when Cabs had an off weekend. The same goes for this weekend with Bucs off.

By my count, they are currently in 11th overall behind 5-Sabers, 6-C², 7-ACV, 8-Hurcs, 9-Bush, and 10-Sun. But of course, who knows what it will look like after the next show weekend :)

Update with scores from this weekend.

As a sidenote, here's where the Kilts are at:

We just put our closing tune (visual and music) on the field a rehearsal or so ago---this past Saturday was our first complete run of the show, of the season.

Up until that point the corps has been finishing the 3rd tune of the show and doing a "park and bark" of one of our well-known parade songs...."Scotland the Brave".

The Kilts had a rough winter; the weather caused either cancelled camps (full days and partials) and totally hampered many out of town members from attending.

When the corps hit outside the end of April, we were where we typically are at in January.................

Since that time we have adjusted our schedule to add hours to rehearsal schedules, add days to rehearsal schedules, etc. Plus position in returning and new members who simply did not have time to get ready for "prime time" due to our (or their) busy schedule(s) in June and July---plus some had scheduling conflicts with high school competitive marching programs, military band committments, etc.

We came off our performance in Racine on Saturday evening and immediately went right into full rehearsal early the next morning for the entire day; set, by set, by set---visually and musically, cleaning, enhancing, adjusting, etc., etc............and the corps plans on continuing this intensity.

Come Rochester................you will get the very best the Kilts have.

Well, yes, there's a degree to how much stock one can put into the numbers, but MBI has to have at least some concerns about seeding at this point.

In their shoes do they want to show up seeded 4th or 5th and shoot for the win? It might happen, assuming a strong prelims performance that jumps them up, etc., but in reality, you want as high a seed as possible to take it all. You want to minimize risk.

We'll see how they do that last weekend before championships and where they end up seeded. They have time to clean and make some moves if the content and quality are there.

their big mistake was not coming east this year. they need a read from the east to get a decent seeding.
