BozzlyB
I've been in quite a few studios, and never seen one that could accommodate any but one section at a time. The studio cost must be enormous to do a full corps. An outside professional recording makes a LOT more sense.
Gloryah
Every year, BK spends time during their Utah stop to record with the IsoMike people. http://www.isomike.com This isn't "in studio" recording...rather it's more like bringing the studio to the stadium and the recording quality is superb. I have a CD of BK performing Avian and another CD of BK and Troopers from an earlier year.
MikeN
Well, there's standstill recordings, and then there's studio recordings. These days, they're mostly one in the same as corps get professional recordings done outdoors. I'm a huge collector of these - I love the "concert hall" feeling of the shows, and getting to hear all of the little nuances that get lost when there's 20,000 screaming fans covering it up. Most of the concert recordings are either early season releases, or Finals week recordings. There's a scant few that were designed as "studio" sessions (BD/SCV's "State of the Art" immediately comes to mind, as does DCI's "Ornaments in Brass"). I'm working on putting a list together, but it might be easier to crowdsource it on here. :) Mike
CrownStarr
Crown tends to do one of each: preseason recordings (done towards the end of move-ins) and end-of-season recordings (done during finals week). We usually did some percussion-only and some brass-only recordings too, either of the whole show or just of certain sections. Recording outside is nice, but there are drawbacks sometimes - I believe you can hear a power-washer in the background of the 2009 recordings, and I think there was baseball team practicing near us another year!

afd
Just purchased BD's recording for 2014. They recorded it at DVC the day after family day. Same with BDB and BDC. All are available for purchase.

Kamarag
The 2004 Tour of Champions DVD is a fantastic example of what can be done with recording drum corps audio in as close to an optimal environment as we're ever going to see. It's fantastic, and they video recorded the whole thing.
The Biggest Fan
Studio recordings would be amazing. And like others have mentioned....the 'studio' part doesn't need to be literal.
