Round Rockin' 'n Rollin' -- 7/17

When was the last time Blue Stars beat Boston?

Aug. 14, 2010 -- DCI Finals

8. 91.90 -- Blue Stars ("Houdini")

9. 89.35 -- Boston Crusaders ("Thy Kingdom Come" aka Songs from the Big Chair)

Their scores were very similar for the first four weeks of the 2011, with Blue Stars often slightly ahead of Boston Crusaders in separate shows, but they didn't actually meet until Minneapolis on July 16, when it was Boston's "Revolution" in ninth with 79.40 to Stars's "ReBourne" in tenth with 78.85. Partly because Blue Stars were in the Tour of Champions shows, they only met Boston twice more before Championships, at the San Antonio and Atlanta regionals, where Boston slowly built up a lead of more than three points, with the Finals results being Boston in eighth with 90.65 and Stars in eleventh with 86.20.

In 2012, Boston went to California, so again the corps didn't meet until Minneapolis. (They should have met in La Crosse, but the last three corps were rained out, so only Boston was scored.) There Boston's "The Titans" took seventh with 78.85 to Blue Stars' "The Blue World" in eleventh with 74.75. After that, they met four more times during the regular season (this year Boston was with the ToC), with Boston generally maintaining a four-point lead. Their last meeting was Semis, where Boston was in eighth with 89.30 and Stars were in thirteenth with 84.60. (Boston would take seventh in Finals, but with a score almost three points lower than Stars' eighth-place finish from 2010.)

In 2013, they met twice before Minneapolis (neither was in the Tour of Champions, which featured the previous season's top six plus number eight), beginning with a match-up on June 23, where Boston's "Rise" took fourth with 69.50 to Stars' "Voodoo" in seventh with 65.15. Boston also won in their other six meetings before championships, generally by two or three points, opening up a little as the season progressed, and in Finals it was Boston in eighth with 90.40 to Stars in twelfth with 85.45.

My wife texted me and said that they (Troopers) are just in Denton now.......flash flooding along route and I-35 came to a standstill.......Cadets in same situation. Making for a very long night of travel!!! UGH!!!!

Cadets had to get special permission for their CDL drivers to drive the chartered buses to the show because the Charter Company drivers are out of road time. they need to sleep to drive tonight. That was really nice of the charter company. The other choice was to cancel out on tonight's show or try to get into Denton. This was from George on his blog.

Everything is in place for this,. Lots of long hours of practices; all living in close proximity; low immune system from being tired, add in some stress, and those little bugs move right in.
