brichtimp
2014 is an OUTSTANDING year for drumlines and on any given night there are 4-5 lines that could be on top. Cadets, BD and SCV display technical ability that is impressive, but my favorite "features" are those of Bluecoats and Cavies. Crown's muffler feature is certainly entertaining and fits with their show theme very well. I also have been impressed with Blue Knights and Madison. 2014 is a strong year for percussion!!! When the Cadets battery makes that 40 yard diagonal burst at dangerous velocity while playing complex embedded figures inside of 5- lits, that is a signature battery break to remember, especially as they are synchronizing with the front ensemble.....I am biased, but this is cool.
flammaster
I really like the SCV tenor feature. I also like PR's snare break. so many good lines this year it's not enough space to put them all.
SFZFAN
Why? Your blind fanboyism would make any argument I make pointless. Have a good night. Seriously? YOU just typed that? Have you looked in a mirror lately? Geesh!
Cappybara
Seriously? YOU just typed that? Have you looked in a mirror lately? Geesh! I have favorites this year but I remain objective as possible. Did you see what he typed? He wasn't even trying. Also my topic is asking about FAVORITE drum breaks. I don't want an argument over who has the BEST drum break. Not everything is a competition. He could've easily just said his favorite is the Cavies and I would've agreed that the Cavies have a pretty freaking eye opening marimba feature this year. That's definitely one of the cooler ones this year. But thn again, it's the Cadets. Their drum breaks are always insane. I wish they were staged (get it?) better during it though!
Precious Roy
When the Cadets battery makes that 40 yard diagonal burst at dangerous velocity while playing complex embedded figures inside of 5- lits,.. That's just drum-speak for "marching fast and playing a lot of notes," right?
brichtimp
That's just drum-speak for "marching fast and playing a lot of notes," right? Playing complex patterns with musical nuance at 192 bpm is a more accurate description .....not just shredding notes to show off on a stage.
