cfirwin3
I still think BD will add to the ending. Musically it's great, but doing the random body movements ala 89 Cadets, dissolving the form, then gradually reforming it is kinda lame in my opinion. I suppose you don't fix what isn't broke, but still... I don't know that there is much that they can do to the ending... All of the focus seems to be intentionally directed to the stage platforms... the guard and the story at the end. Cadets have a similar theatrical kind of ending, but the Devils are really making it work. I think that some sort of drill movement would have to sacrifice this. And while I LOVE great drill... as you said, I don't know that they should try to fix what isn't broken. I don't usually go for theatrics... but this is a really spine tingly mushy gushy feel good ending. Kinda like Crown last year. Cadets would benefit much more... IMO to ditching the closing theatrics and somehow getting some drill that will connect to the audience from back field. ... One Idea that I have... is if the Cadets bring the whole corps around the front of the front ensemble and stage in some sort of contrary motion drill... if they could do this without violating any rules, it would play REALLY big. To have the corps disconnected for 11+ minutes and then lay it on front and center right at the end would be great.

Excellent point.
