BieberTpt
That being said, here is the info for tonight: Tour of Champions - Buffalo Robert Rich Sr. All-High Stadium 2885 Main St. Buffalo, NY 14214 Performing corps (in order): Santa Clara Vanguard Bluecoats Troopers (INT) Carolina Crown Cavaliers Cadets Blue Devils I'll check the show website for the official schedule, but if anybody can find it before me, that would be great! As for the weather, there's a pretty constant 40% chance of rain today until during the show. Predictions anyone? Will BD break 97 tonight? Will Bluecoats finally pass Cadets? Will the Troopers surprise anyone? Post away! Not a great spot for Bluecoats ..... Let's hope the judges will be able to manage numbers well. It will certainly help in keeping the hype on the short road left to Indy.
jwillis35
I remember driving to the Buffalo show on many occasions. I can recall being in Ralph Wilson a few times (plus I went for the 1990, 1995, and 2001 championships), and I also recall being in UB stadium (very nice place actually) and also one year at the minor league baseball stadium (when it was a Cleveland AAA team). I was very fortunate to have also played in the Chautauqua Youth Orchestra when I was in high school. Upstate NY is truly a wonderful place, and yes those wings are the best. At Lake Chautauqua the place to go was The Casino in Bemus Point. And in Buffalo it was the Anchor Bar (where I believe the name comes from). Are any of those places still around? It was actually a good show when at the now Coca-Coca Field (fka Pilot Field/Dunn Tire Park). The park is considered one of the better ones in Minor Leagues, especially being downtown. I am from Jamestown. The Casino is still in Bemus. Haven't been there in a few years, but it has gone downhill considerably even since then. The Anchor Bar is pretty much a tourist trap now in my opinion. Wings are bad and you can get much better at most local pizza places or bars. cfirwin3
I'm at the show. Watched Coats run a quick quarter day rehearsal this morning. Watching BD at the show site now. Stadium is just like Massilon (if you have ever been there). Big steel canopy. Should make for great sound. If it rains... we will be dry. Cross your fingers for clear skies. Will try to report what I see.
cfirwin3
Dan Acheson... running around making last minute preparations. Going to watch BD run through... get kicked out of stadium... and re-enter with ticket at 5:30. Couple comments about BD: This show is operating on a whole different level of GE. The show is seemless and stylistically versatile. That is why they win. The program is written with an entertainment in a 21st century, impatient, instant gratification mentality. And it delivers with an impact moment nearly every 10 seconds. Oh... and they perform it, very, very well. Beatiful solos. More when the show starts, if I can.
2muchcoffeeman
I am a huge Troopers fan, but following Bloo tonight, wow, that will be a new kind of challenge. I am, however, glad to see Troop get one more live run in before hitting Indy.
2muchcoffeeman
It also occurs to me that I am selling Troop short. My apologies. May Jim Jones strike me with a bolt of lightning. Go Troop!
theyremovingit
Can someone explain why SCV and Coats are performing so early?
drumcorpsfever
Here at the stadium. The site of tonight's event was not orginally in the plans. Previously this was held at Buffalo's Rich Stadium - where it hopefully returns next year. At least tonight's' field is turf. However, many obstructed seats due to the grandstand roof support. The good news is, the roof will probably be blown off once Bloo finishes their show. PITCH BEND - VOLUME!!!! Bring it on... there's no threat of rain so we don't need a roof anyway! KVG_DC
Can someone explain why SCV and Coats are performing so early? The TOC shows have an ordered draw that rotates between all the TOC shows. It's a different format than the usual 'seeded' shows.
