jwillis35
And yes, there has been a dearth this year of top 12 corps in any of the more northerly western shows and clearly at Denver. Anyone know what's up with that? Is it coincidence? Finances? Do they not like us here in any western state except Cali? With all due respect to BK and Bloo, the Minnesota roster looks a bit lopsided. Good point. Not sure why this is, but I wish the DATR was on Sunday or Monday night so some of the Minnesota corps could get there. Someone mentioned on here that DCI Minnesota is not a regional, but I have seen 2 corps directors and a blurb on the DCI site calling it a regional. If true, then this is why there is a lopsided lineup. Sadly for the west, a lot of the east and midwest corps cannot get out there every year. Many of them go to Texas and that's their one long trip. Othrewise, many of the shows are in the east and midwest. This was clearly why DCI wanted to send at least 1 midwest or eastern corps out west each year. Fantastic venue, sells a crap load of tickets every year no matter the lineup, and its just a great stadium for drum corps

BlueStainGlass
ill post this here as well you can see what groups get a little more than others. Weird to see from first show to the first regional people gain like 10-20 points but from here to the end is pretty consistent. Pointless numbers of the day. Just an average score increase from Minneapolis to finals. 2014 La Crosse Finals Difference Cadets 88.05 96.875 8.825 Crown 86.9 95.675 8.775 Bluecoats 85.85 97.175 11.325 Cavies 84.6 93.675 9.075 Phantom 83.2 91.425 8.225 Boston 78.8 88.95 10.15 Blue Stars 78.65 89.6 10.95 Colts 74.55 85.35 10.8 Spirit 74.5 81.55 7.05 Jersery Surf 65.15 75.8 10.65 2013 Minneapolis Finals Crown 86 98.3 12.3 BD 85.55 98.05 12.5 Cadets 84.45 96.95 12.5 Vanguard 83.85 96.85 13 Phantom 82 93.35 11.35 Bluecoats 81.3 93.25 11.95 Madison 80.15 90.1 9.95 Cavies 78.6 90.5 11.9 BK 78.1 87.75 9.65 Boston 78.05 90.4 12.35 Spirit 75.45 86.64 11.19 Blue Stars 74.35 85.45 11.1 Troopers 73.4 86.05 12.65 Crossmen 73.3 84.85 11.55 Colts 70.9 82.45 11.55 Academy 69.1 78.2 9.1 Cascades 61 69.85 8.85 2012 BD 86.3 98.7 12.4 Crown 85.8 97.65 11.85 Cadets 83.8 95.05 11.25 Phantom 83.65 96.55 12.9 Vanguard 81.7 94.45 12.75 Bluecoats 81.35 92.55 11.2 Boston 78.85 89.1 10.25 Cavies 78.65 88.85 10.2 Madison Scouts 77.75 88 10.25 Spirit 76.55 84.4 7.85 Blue Stars 74.75 84.6 9.85 Blue Knights 74.2 86.7 12.5 Crossmen 72.8 84 11.2 Academy 72.1 81.9 9.8 Glassmen 71.35 82.25 10.9 Colts 70.55 79.2 8.65 Troopers 68.1 77.65 9.55 Cascades 62.25 68.75 6.5 Average Point increase from Minneaoplis to finals BD 12.45 * Crown 10.975 Cadets 10.85833333 Phantom 10.825 Vanguard 12.875 * Bluecoats 11.49166667 Boston 10.91666667 Cavies 10.39166667 Madison Scouts 10.1 * Spirit 8.696666667 Blue Stars 10.63333333 Blue Knights 11.075 * Crossmen 11.375 * Academy 9.45 * Colts 10.33333333 * Troopers 11.1 * Cascades 7.675 * * only had scores for 2/3 years
Tobias
I'm curious. At head-to-head shows, in how many shows have Cadets beaten Blue Devils in brass? How many times have they beaten Crown in brass? Also, in how many shows have Cadets beaten Bluecoats in Brass? I'm just too lazy to look it up and I have chores to do. Cadets beat BD in brass the two times they saw them and Crown the last three meets. I'm not drawing anything from that other than what it is.

I would love to see a regional further out west in California, but also think that would be unfair to the many corps who have to start later due to college schedules. I do think a Denver regional would be fair and and give a good first read..

drumcorpsfever
Looking at the next couple of shows (Dekalb and MO) - I think we'll see more position changes. Interesting show orders and a smaller field will impact the scores. Look for at least a 2-3 point jump. I also think you'll see Crown close the gap. Crown was only .8 from BD in Ft Wayne. Don't count Crown out of this thing. I wouldn't bet the house on anyone 1st-5th this year at this point. Isn't that great though?
