Yorkvillain
Gino Cipriani has done it in brass with the Blue Devils and later the Cadets. I think he was just talking about the Sanford but that's a great one too.
geluf
Gino Cipriani has done it in brass with the Blue Devils and later the Cadets. Yeah, but the question was specifically about the Sanford.
Kamarag
Yeah, but the question was specifically about the Sanford. Which is why I put "in brass" in the comment.
hughesmr
Just thought of one more. Thom Hannum 87 Cadets/ 93 Star? Ah yes, that's right! Thanks. Tom Float never won/tied for high percussion while at Spirit, did he?
oldsoprano
Ah yes, that's right! Thanks. Tom Float never won/tied for high percussion while at Spirit, did he? Yeah, he did. In 1980, Spirit and Bridgemen tied for first in percusssion, with a 19.2. They gave the trophy to Bridgemen that night because they had the higher GE drums score, but the two corps tied for high drums.
Tez
Along with all of the other Blue Devils' records, they now own the highest 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place scores:1st - 2014 - 99.6502nd - 2004 - 98.5253rd - 1998 - 97.700Also, in the past 20 years, the Blue Devils have only lost Colorguard 6 times (1996, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2007). OrlandoContraAlum
I loved those mid-late 80's Suncoast shows. What was the year they had a late start to the season and incredibly made finals? 89? Yep, it was 89.
OrlandoContraAlum
Perspective - In the summer of 2007: This year's age-outs were getting ready to start High School. George W Bush was president (with over a year to go on his second term) The Xbox 360 had only been out two years, the PS3 only one The original iPhone was released All of this happened the last summer that didn't end with a Blue Devils color guard victory. Good stuff. Perspective - 1997 DCI Finals in Orlando Blue Devils win their 3rd title in 4 years with Scott Johnson's drumline winning their 3rd Sanford trophy in 4 years as well. Meanwhile Johnson's future 2014 snare Brandon Olander wasn't even born yet.
MotoSurfBass
^ Holy cow, we are reaching the point where there are World Class performers that were born in the 21st century. My brain is hurting.
