cooter
I'm going with the "lots of places flipping around" crowd, mostly cause it makes for an interesting night, even if it is only a guess. Looking forward to having a round or three with lots of old friends. Jeff Ream
MBI's guard absolutely deserved that trophy too. Hurcs' guard at retreat left a bad taste in a lot of folks mouths...and proves that when you care more about a caption trophy than the success of the overall corps, you have a real problem. I hope they aren't like that anymore... yeah that was definitely some old school behavior

I'm shocked they didn't storm the judges in 2011, even if the scoring was 100% right, and it was.
LegalEagle50
Guard is blood sport in Connecticut. eh - that's because hunting isn't encouraged in CT like it is in PA, nor do they have as many malls as Jersey. kids got to do something with their time....
G-Rott
86. Still going with 1983...I only marched finals one year...1983...and I'm pretty sure it happened that year. According to CorpReps, Matadors got 10th in 86 finals...11th in prelims....so maybe it happened both years...but I'm pretty confident for 1983 even though they aren't listed for finals...maybe they competed "only" for the guard caption in 1983.....I wasn't there in 1986..anybody have caption scores for 1983 and 1986? Sunday September 4, 1983 Allentown PA DCA Championships Prelims DCA Position Corps Score 1 Long Island Sunrisers 90.900 2 Hawthorne Caballeros 89.250 3 New York Skyliners 85.850 4 Westshoremen 83.250 5 Bushwackers 82.750 6 Reading Buccaneers 81.450 7 Connecticut Hurricanes 79.800 8 L'Odysee 72.000 9 Archer-Epler Musketeers 70.050 10 Steel City Ambassadors 68.550 11 Empire Statesmen 62.750 12 Rhode Island Matadors 62.050 13 Ohio Brass Factory 60.600 14 Rochester Crusaders 58.350 15 Guelph Royalaires 57.400 16 Troy Defenders 43.000 Edited August 29, 2014 by G-Rott
