Cadevilina Crown
Regarding the excellence of Cadets on the percussion side, GridBook has just posted "A Day in the Life of Cadets Percussion 2014." This is the section that finished 4th in 2014...a testament to the current quality of DCI percussion performance. https://youtu.be/EJfz0hIhVds The Cadets' percussion was cleaner than any other except maybe SCV in 2014. The main reason they placed 4th was the stage used in the show, which muffled a lot of the drumline's sound and prevented the drumline from being featured very prominently.
xandandl
Are you saying this comment reviewing from the GE box or the field level? The stage had no negative effect from the GE box which was about where I was seated for all 2014 championships. From the field level, maybe so; although the judges definitely left the track area to sample. Check the vids.
brichtimp
Because of the stage and the staging of the battery in 2014, some of their finest and most intricate execution was not sampled by the field judge. Ironic, because IMHO, this section was comparable in quality and consistency to the Sanford winning 2013 section.

Their staging was awful because of that big stage. They should have gotten them up there.
xandandl
Their feature post for April 14th was Cadets 2011! Guess that's what it means by WORLD champions. https://www.facebook.com/FanfarraShowMarchingBandTrovaoAzul
ksampsondavis
"...but they would look stellar in the classic Cadets uniform in varying textures and shades of black, a la Regiment in '96." ...Whoa. xandandl
...Whoa. Because you already know that that Black jacket, gold cummerbund, cream pants gig was already exhausted in DCI by the Argonne Rebels of Kansas. Ssssh. These noobies! Cadevilina Crown
Did anyone watch tonight's webcast with Hop and Sacktig? If so, what is the "special announcement?"

I'm curious too.... ....with this thread being 94 pages before May, I really hope this show doesn't become a let-down.
