The schedule for Season 23 has been posted! As you'll see, there are a few changes to our format this season.

First, the Western regional championships are taking place a week BEFORE the other three regions. This is designed to give the western corps more time to venture out east and participate with the rest of the other corps. Western corps will be able to participate in the other three regionals if they wish. The schedule is set up so that corps from other regions could take advantage of this as well by participating in the western regionals and then returning to their home region.

Second, southern corps will be starting in Texas this season and will have the opportunity to travel west for the first 2 weeks of the season. Other corps are, of course, welcome to join this route as well, but southern corps will be the main beneficiaries of this arrangement.

Third, per the rule changes that were approved this offseason, the Fanfare and CLASS championships will occur as major events during week 6. The Fanfare championships will be at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison, WI and the CLASS championships will be at Houchens Industries Stadium in Bowling Green, KY. Additionally, the Masters of DCPI event will take place at Crew Stadium in Columbus OH during the middle of that week. This event is invite-only and is limited to former DCPI champions from all divisions. Eligible directors will receive invites as the season gets closer.

Fourth, corps can actively register for both rounds of the regional championships and all three rounds for finals week (or both rounds for Open Class/Class A). In the past, I would manually create the score table for these events, but allowing directors to register for all regional/championship events will automate the process a bit more (thus making my job easier ). For the regionals, remember that corps can only participate in one regional (with the exception of the west regional, as described above), so no registering for one regional's prelims and another regional's finals. Also, per the rules changes that were approved during the off-season, Open Class and Class A corps will be eligible to participate in World Class prelims (and advance if they score high enough) if there are fewer than 50 corps overall registered by the first day of the season. Open Class/Class A directors wishing to take advantage of this should sign up in advance, preferably before the start of the season.

Fifth, and most significantly, the Sweepstakes events for this season are clearly marked on the calendar. Events marked "SE" are the sweepstakes events. A full list will be published in a separate thread at the start of the season. These events are open to all corps, but participation is not mandatory.

Caption selections are also open at this time. If you have submitted captions before now, you will need to re-submit. We will be using corps from 2011-2014 this season. In the meantime, please continue to post your pre-season registration info in this thread.

One quick update- the corps values for 2013 were updated to correct a few entry errors. Be sure to update your corps if you've selected any of those captions.

I doubt it is possible for the home show since the schedule is out, but just for future reference.
