Scouts Honor: Inside A Marching Brotherhood

Recommended Posts

If you haven't heard (and if you're a drum corps fan, i don't know how you couldn't have), screenings of "Scouts Honor: Inside A Marching Brotherhood", the award-winning documentary filmed and recorded during the Scouts 2012 season, has started screenings across the country.

If possible, can we pin this post so screening sponsors can list their events?

I'll start...

The Velvet Knights Alumni Corps is sponsoring the only Southern California screening of the award winning documentary, "Scouts Honor: Inside a Marching Brotherhood".
The screening is scheduled for Thursday, January 15, 2015, at the Edwards Anaheim Hills 14 in Anaheim Hills, CA.
TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE BY ADVANCE PURCHASE ONLY! THERE ARE NO WALK-UP TICKET SALES!
Tickets are $10.50.
To reserve tickets, go to: http://gathr.us/screening/9782
This is a fundraiser for the Velvet Knights Alumni Corps. But we need a minimum number of tickets sold to make this happen. Even when you pre-purchase you tickets, your credit card will NOT be charged until the minimum number of tickets are sold.
Filmed over the course of the 2012 season and recorded in 5.1 Surround Sound, this theater event is the closest you'll come to hearing a drum corps show live.

Hey Central California drum corps members and alumni! We are trying to bring a screening of Scouts Honor: Inside a Marching Brotherhood to Fresno.

In one unforgettable summer, three young men commit themselves to one of the most demanding youth activities in the country -- World Class drum and bugle corps: A veteran drumline member steps into a leadership role for the first time; a 15-year-old trumpet player from Texas becomes the youngest member of the entire corps; and a color guard member fights to finish his final season after receiving a life-changing diagnosis. Drum and bugle corps pushes young people to extreme levels, both physically and mentally -- all for one 11-minute performance. All three young men march with the Madison Scouts from Madison, Wisconsin. The strong brotherhood of this all-male organization helps them through their struggles and celebrates their triumphs.

See the film in Fresno on Wednesday January 21, 7:30pm at Edwards 22 in Riverpark.

To reserve tickets, go to http://gathr.us/screening/9779 and tickets can only be reserved until Monday January 12. No tickets will be sold at the door.

Tickets are $12 and you won't be charged until we reach our minimum of 79 reservations.

There's a Bakersfield, CA screening that only has a few days left to sell enough tickets. This screening was requested by Tim Heasley who is the corps director of Golden Empire drum & bugle corps. Tim saw a rough cut of the film and thinks that this screning can really help inspire the local community about the great things that happen in the marching arts. Please help Tim reach their ticket threshold by using the "INVITE" tool on his Facebook event page. Use this to alert anyone you know in the Southern California about this screening and encourage them to "INVITE" their friends too.

Scouts Honor is coming to the SF Bay Area.

February 12th, 2015. 7:30 pm

Regal Hacienda Crossings

5000 Dublin Blvd, Dublin CA 94568

Get your Tickets at Gathr Films. NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AT THE THEATRE!

This is a Benefit for The Amador Valley High School Marching Band and Color Guard.

We need to sell 71 tickets last I checked.

I was able to go to the screening, hosted by Mac and JT. It is a powerful movie and very emotional, I have been a Drum Corp dad for 7 years so far and have loved every minute of it. The 5.1 sound makes you feel that you are there, right in the middle of it all the action.

Please help us make this award winning film happen in Dublin, spread the word through social media or just by word of mouth.

It is a great movie and a great cause.

My son did BDB for 2 years and then went to Madison for 5 years and aged out last year. I will miss him performing, but his sister is in BDB, and they always have an entertaining show.

For all you folks who haven't seen this fabulous documentary - it was shown here in the Twin Cities as part of the Twin Cities Film Festival - where it WON the Best Documentary award!!

I know most folks outside the great white north may think we're just a bit backward - but this film has probably the BEST soundtrack and musical balance in any film I've seen in many years, considering the effort it probably took to get the outdoor recordings balanced to sound like they were recorded in a studio.

Go see it if you can!! You won't regret it - visually as well as aurally!!! :worthy:

:The window to reserve your seats for any of the screenings is limited, and unless each screening reaches a "tipping point" of reservations, the screenings are cancelled. If you are thinking about going to any of the screenings, anywhere, please make your reservations NOW. Most organizations hosting the screenings are using it was a fund raising opportunity.

Time is running out in Anaheim. We are stuck at 48 reservations, and need 90 to reach our "tipping point". We need 42 more reservations by January 4, 10 days from this posting.

Please, help the Velvet Knights Alumni Corps by reserving your tickets at: http://gathr.us/screening/9782

Thanks!

Please buy your tickets in advance, they will not be sold at the door or at the theatre. They are only sold through Gathr Films at http://gathr.us/screening/9931. The screening doesn't happen unless all 73 tickets are sold by a certain date. Your credit card will not charged until the Tipping point is hit, so please don't wait till the end, do it today.

Mac and Tom have taken the Movie to multiple Film festivals and have won best Documentary.

TJ has perfected the quality of the sound in 5.1 surround sound. It makes you feel like you are part of the corp.

.

My goal is to get more than the 73 people needed to make this screening happen.

The more tickets sold the more we can help Amador Valley HS Marching Band. Last year they marched 330 kids and placed in 3rd in the state in WBA.

There are less than two days to purchase tickets for the 1st Southern California screening of the award winning documentary film "Scouts Honor: Inside a Marching Brotherhood." This is an event hosted by the Velvet Knights Alumni corps to benefit their group.

58 tickets have already been purchased, 32 tickets need to be sold to meet the ticket quota by Monday, January 5th at Noon (Purchase here: https://gathr.us/screening/9782). No tickets will be available at the door.

Please utilize this Facebook event page (https://www.facebook.com/events/422262254606407/) and use the "invite" function (on the right side of the event page) to easily alert your SoCal friends about this screening. A portion of the ticket proceeds will go to the VK alumni corps.

Thank you!
