The "Music Corps Should Do" thread

I would like to see Carolina Crown or Bluecoats do David Holsingers' "In the spring, at the time when kings go off to war" as a full show.

You mean the show that Cadets won with in 1993?

Yea, that would be cool to do again with a modern twist. I think Crown would be the better fit. smile.gif

Someone really needs to jump on:

"Scenes From Melville" based on "Of Sailors and Whales" composed by Francis McBeth.

A high school band did this in '91 and it totally rocked.

I really wish someone would do a complete show based upon the first Tubular Bells album by Mike Oldfield.

Absolutely! I was checking the tube.... I see that other bands have done some of it more recently in 2004, 2005, & 2008. Still, WS '91 is probably more of a "drum corps" arrangement.

I don't really know who would perform it.

Cadets, Blue Stars, or SCV maybe? To me, it sounds similar to Holsinger's compositional style.
