Wow, OC's sounding great! This seems earlier than usual for them to start Spring training, anyone of you OC alums/parents know when they've started the previous years? Looking forward to them "making history" and their "Most beautiful and powerful show in OC history".

Also on an unrelated note, I just watched their indoor guard show from this year, the lights on the costumes and the flags are REALLY cool.

OC has moved in about 10-14 days earlier this year than in previous years. And... as others have said in the thread... they've stepped up levels in all captions. Corps is having one of their best springs ever stretching back to camps leading up to move-ins. #OC15 will be one to watch.

Basically, its a couple of things.

The starting time in the NW for move-ins

The cost of adding 10-14 days of touring

The scoring penalty they would kind of see for not being ready to compete (lower scores will hold their score down all summer)

One other significant item... cost of renting "california clean" diesel equipment to travel down there. That is a significant expense (tax) that no one has to pay in any other part of the country.

Thanks for the info on move ins, that's incredibly exciting! Looking forward to it!

OC just made this public on facebook so I'm going to post it here. This is the last brass statement of the show - a stand still and not yet perfect but I think it really speaks to the quality of the new brass staff this year - from design to execution.

Note: After I said it was recorded a week ago I realized that this take is not the one I thought it was. Truth is, I don't know when it was recorded :) So I edited my statement above.

Wow...

The fight for 10-15 just got that much tighter.

That video was shot a week ago. There was a full run posted a couple days later to their OCVIP service. They've really put together a nice book this year.
