Dayton '15

Jeff,

Wouldn't that be true wherever WGIP would be save a megopolis site like LOS? Even Atlanta DCI Regionals at the Georgia Dome was no piece of cake either on rain days.

Originally for Dayton there was discussion of a circus sized tent being set in the parking lot for warm-ups, but even then not all units would fit; later units would still end up outside.

Tent idea got re-shaped and ended up as the souvie section.

UD arena does sell out for CG Finals but not so tremendously that a megopolis would be needed for seating. Intimacy that Dayton embraces would be lost.

they don't need to go to a bigger stadium. UD is incredible. UD and the Wildwood Convention Center are the best two places I've ever watched indoor shows.

and yes rain sucks period for drum warmups. but percussion doesnt even get access to the hallways or wherver in UD to even hang out when it rains

Among the many color guards competing this weekend at Dayton are units representing Oregon Crusaders, Cadets, and Santa Clara Vanguard.

Good luck to them and to the many DCI performers competing under other banners.

Rain on the forecast for Dayton's Winter Guards too. Not just a drummer's hassle.

re:

ADAMAS Guard by Kunnateeruttaramwitthayakom School ( Bangkok, Thailand) 76.330

Pity Brandt Crocker and the other show announcers in the activity.

And you thought Polish names were tough to say!!!

Not quite the same punch as "Phhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhantom Regiment' or "Saaaaanta Clara Vannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnguard!" in my best B,C, imitation.

Good luck to all.

Congrats to Artistry IN BLUE (Bluecoats official winter guard unit) in 2nd place. 87.88 in their Independent A prelims round!

Yup, all drum corps linked units outscored The Cadets.

Not sure if it means anything since it's the first year. Those kids were young, don't think many Cadets guard members but some C2 kids in there.

Well I would say the top 2 are very close. I'm not sure the third group a point out is super close but gaps can change.
