perc2100
Any DCI or WGI shows with Rap, Hip-Hop, or Pop in them? I've seen a TON of indoor percussion groups that do Rap, Hip-Hop, or pop: not necessarily WGI though (didn't Dartmouth 2014 WGI PSW Gold play some pop stuff?). To be honest, the rights' clearances are expensive and difficult and it's become, I think, much easier to write original music.

CrownBariDad
How would you classify the Cavies' This is My Rifle segment. Rap?
Kamarag
How would you classify the Cavies' This is My Rifle segment. Rap? It's more like a chant, or a cadence (a military one, not a drum cadence).
xandandl
It's more like a chant, or a cadence (a military one, not a drum cadence). cf. Madison Scouts, pre-show entrance, Band of Brothers show for another example. Edited April 25, 2015 by xandandl
KVG_DC
In high school, we did Don Ellis' Open Wide complete with "taka-taka-DOW"s and all. We got the fans from a local smaller class band screaming for us with it because they were "OMG, THEY RAP IN THEIR SHOW THIS YEAR." Most of us were, "huh? we do?" It just didn't seem like rapping at all to us.
msumello
I think I'd be alright with hip hop or pop shows.......as for rap, I hope not...I don't think rap is really music....but some think it is and I don't want to debate the subject. drummer5485
How have we gone this far and not mentioned "15 Minutes of Fame"? Gaga, dubstep, etc.
