And maybe one reason Cadets folks sometimes get defensive nowadays is from the residual annoyance of DCP being pretty aggravating in the recent past -- every time someone says the Cadets are "cheesy" I shudder and have a flashback to the '00s, when the Cadets took some unpopular creative risks, and DCP just wasn't fun. I get that, i really do. Although not all cheese is bad cheese. I just think the cadets do take bigger risks in regards to lathering their show with a big dollop of canned spray cheese, and sometimes it pays off and sometimes it doesn't.
