We see that at regionals but I wouldn't worry about it. the only folks i see agitated about this number are non-Crown homers engaging in some schadenfreude. pretty funny actually. Crown is my favorite corps next to Cadets and that's because I marched with them (Cadets) but yes.... DCP works that way. Crown is stronger than ever caption wise so I'm sure they'll contend for a medal. Beyond that, who knows with such a subjective judging system now.
