Malaguena Salerosa
What do you think? Is this the hardest show ever attempted on a DCI football field? Break it down by sections.... -music: brass (can further subdivide to lowness and high brass) -music: battery -music: front ensemble -guard -drill/movement -simultaneous demand (drill+music/flag/rifle, or movement+music/flag/rifle) If not Cadets '15, then which show takes the above captions, and overall, as far as pure difficulty? Tobias
In an era where demand is a risk most corps don't take, I would say Cadets 2015 was the most demanding. 1. Demanding musical charts with varying dynamics. 2. Constant drill demand not only for that glorious brass line, but for percussion and especially guard (which hurt guard scores all year). 3. Difficult musical phrasing, tempos played on the move. 4. Individual conditioning demands extremely high. 5. Very exposed expansive linear patterns in drill leaving little room for error. Yep. I would put them over Crown 2012 which was another demanding monster show. I give credit to BD design staff. They do exactly the minimum they need to do demand wise and then beautifully layer their show with content. jwillis35
Most demanding for 2015, no question about it. But I don't know about all time. Watch Cadets 1993 and 1997. Star 1990 and 1991. Carolina Crown 2012. Tough call, but this year's Cadets show is in select company with only a few corps.
patrick643
Posted by George Hopkins himself on Facebook: "We took on the most difficult book and visual program in a long long long time. And the kids were magnificent Kudos to the other three corps butting heads but if I was judging ...... Thanks to all for the support. It was a fabulous ride. I am honored and I assure you that Me and the design team will be back next year with a show that will again amaze and thrill Next year begins now I love this corps and I have never felt so privileged to have the job I have These young men and women are my heroes. BoyWonder1911
Spin Cycle has got to be up there along with Four Corners. I don't think this year's Cadets show was that difficult. The Christmas show was more difficult.
