My list in order...

SCVanguard - Always a crowd pleaser, its a shame they don't score better. LIGHT 'em up!

Bluecoats - Show designs have been brilliant, fun to watch. Bloo will be the next new champion.

Cadets - Always loved them. Hated all the narration last year but "10" was great... I still call 'em Garfield.

Crown - Fun show to watch

Phantom - Loved the Claire De Lune

Honorable mention Blue Knights

Rarely making my list is Blue Devils, indisputably excellent, but not interested in seeing their shows more than once. What was "re-write of spring" all about?

From wikipedia..."the first part of the work would be called "The Kiss of the Earth", and would consist of games and ritual dances interrupted by a procession of sages, culminating in a frenzied dance as the people embraced the spring. Part Two, "The Sacrifice", would have a darker aspect; secret night games of maidens, leading to the choice of one for sacrifice and her eventual dance to the death before the sages".

The "re-write of spring" music was taken directly from Darryl Brenzel's jazz arrangements of the Rite of Spring. -- http://www.amazon.com/The-Rewrite-Spring-Darryl-Brenzel/dp/B008DXI2R4

Enjoy.

1. Bluecoats -Very innovative and exciting throughout. Coats are on their way to a Championship soon.

2. Cadets - Technically tough all the way around. Waltz was impressive.

3. Carolina Crown - Should be listed in the encyclopedia next to General Effect. Too bad the percussion weighed them down.

4. Santa Clara Vanguard - Fun concept and energy.

5. Blue Devils - Fundamentally excellent across the board. Not a BD fan but have to give credit

Best GE: Crown - Yay huge tarp/flags and acting

Best Visual: BD - Duh

Best Music: Bluecoats - What they attempted is amazing

Best Percussion: Bluecoats - Their book was insanely good and they played it very well

It just goes to show we all have different tastes. From the very first video I saw of Colts' show, I thought that line was crass and anachronistic, and I hoped they would replace it.
