xandandl
Talk about fortitude, dedication, desire, and commitment: PR auditionees for guard and percussion had to endure Storm Bella which dropped 11 inches of snow in Greater Chicago leading to 400 flight cancellations from O'Hare alone. Then the power went out for quite a while at the Beloit H.S. where corps was camping. https://www.facebook.com/regiment/photos/a.107201098667.95032.26900688667/10153395115638668/?type=3&theater But they soldiered on. Safe travels home to all. Edited November 22, 2015 by xandandl

Naming winter storms is the stupidest idea ever. It needs to stop. Now. Thank You. </soapbox>

Ghost
Naming winter storms is the stupidest idea ever. What about Hurricanes?
corpsband
What about Hurricanes? The NOAA/NHC has very sound reasoning for naming tropical storms. They carefully observe and track the disturbance well before they are ever named. TWC is only interested in ratings. They arbitrarily assign a name whenever they feel like it and do it soley to drive $$ to their network. Winter storms are generally far more localized and shorter in duration. It's all about ratings not any sort of public service. Do you see these silly winter names in any NWS forecasts and warnings? Please google the issue. Lots and lots professionals in the field have commented very publicly on the matter.
xandandl
What about Hurricanes? They have enough trouble trying to name their hometown: Derby, Shelton, Seymour, Ansonia, Bridgeport...
Ghost
They have enough trouble trying to name their hometown: Derby, Shelton, Seymour, Ansonia, Bridgeport... Many good corps came from that area of CT.

sagemode67
Tschaikovsky, symphony #1, Winter Dreams I'd like to see them whip out some new world this year, that would be good to play considering what just happened with them and the winter we just had, but maybe some Shostakovitch too. This year needs to be a an improvement from last year especially because it is a big anniversary year for them.
