SpiritOfJSUFan
Spirits 2016 Tour Schedule is very much abbreviated from previous years. Not starting the tour until July 8. only 20 Events?

This compares to Cadets doing 33 and even BD doing 27. Edited November 19, 2015 by xandandl
mjyaub
Maybe they are trying to save money. Maybe they are starting spring training later. Maybe they want to have a more complete product on the field. I think the lower tier they compete with as of late start later, but not like July 8 late. Dan Detweiler
They, like every responsible drum corps out there, seem to be doing what is prudent for the long term financial and competitive success of their particular organization. Certainly can't fault them for doing that. Dan

BRASSO
Spirits 2016 Tour Schedule is very much abbreviated from previous years. Not starting the tour until July 8. only 20 Events? This could make financial sense however. For historical perspective, no DCI World Class Division Corps has ever started their summer competitive season this late( 7/8), and made Finals that season. This is indeed an abbreviated 4 week DCI season for SOA this summer, if this is their schedule.. My guess, SOA are also quite aware of this in their rebuilding stage right at the moment. Good luck to them this season in their rebuilding efforts there. Edited November 26, 2015 by BRASSO
xandandl
This could make financial sense however. For historical perspective, no DCI World Class Division Corps has ever started their summer competitive season this late( 7/4), and made Finals that season. This is a 4 week DCI season for SOA this summer. My guess, SOA are also quite aware of this in their rebuilding stage right at the moment. Recalling Teal Sound, Magic of Orlando and other Southern corps who were unable to climb out of financial holes. All the best to Spirit.
