GUARDLING
Corps need to work harder at recruiting local kids. Flam: Do you think they haven't? Do you think corps spend time in certain states for a reason? Why do you think corps have taken this route of recruiting? Not challenging your statement at all and not disagreeing , just wondering if you think corps just don't have interest in whats around them and would rather look many states away . TubaJon
I actually enjoyed touring with people from all over the country and the world. Wouldn't change that for anything.
Cadevilina Crown
I heard that one of the members of Madison this past season was the very first DCI corps member from Slovakia.

MikeD
Several years back, Boston had a about a half dozen marchers from the Far East march with them. Lots of Corps now have marchers from outside the US / Canada. To be fair, Maine is not all that far from Bost....oh....never mind.
MikeD
I was told that there were 2 members from Madison in the Scouts this year. If that is true, that is very very sad. When I marched Madison, we felt like we were a part of the community & the community embraced us. That just isn't the case anymore. Why is that sad? I think it is great that potential members can try out for whatever corps fits their dreams, not just the closest one. How many members of the Chicago Symphony are born and raised in Chicago? I bet a LOT of kids who attend Interlochen come from all over the place, not just the area of Michigan where it is located. Not many students at Princeton U actually come from the Princeton area.
BRASSO
I thought this topic was about confirmed staff changes. Maybe the fired ones went back with that DCI'er to Slovakia. Edited September 2, 2015 by BRASSO
BRASSO
To be fair, Maine is not all that far from Bost....oh....never mind. Maine is Down East , not the Far East. We need to give these Mainiacs that live there their proper respect. Edited September 2, 2015 by BRASSO
