Cadets 2016

It's about control more than anything else.

Bingo. GH felt this wasn't run as tightly as the Cadet products (1&2) with respect to behavior issues, money collection and other peripheral issues. He just doesn't have ample time to address now that Cadets are in season. They'll be back the following season.

Might as well go there. They were almost there anyway.

Yes... in some Drum Corps circles , depending upon where one sits, GH is seemingly either The Messiah, or Beelzebub. ( haha!)

who used to be a Cadets tech but transferred allegiance soon after Tom Aungst went to CC.

one shard of the shattered jewel is that Hopkins has to run everything and has history of not doing well with delegation. When others fail he doesn't apologize for being the one who chose them. (Maybe watching too much Jethro Gibbs.)He can't be everywhere simultaneously much as he tries to be divine in his own myth.

Indoor winter guard program also nixed never took off and is advertised for an unspecified future season. (Can't conflict with Mechanicsburg amongst others it seems.)

Quite unusual is that the official announcement pivots the decision on the BoD (all of whom he appoints similar to the HoF approvals.) Given the turnstile at YEA for sub admins to underlings, some wonder if his days are numbered and if the BoD had a backbone. But yes, there is a back story and more story.

More positive spin is the hope for a better YEA facility (similar to SCV's Space Park hall or even Glassmen's) and a practice place (perhaps like BD's "Mars.") All still in dream stage (cf. Blue Stars '16.) Right now the issue is finding experienced viz. techs (hopefully with Cadet training) to be at ST beginning Weds; supposedly only one vet tech holdover for the blackheads at present due to recent resignations and some firings. Better viz success seems to be flowing with C2 rehearsals.

Kristy is done at Mechanicsburg. Not sure what's up with that program yet Edited by Jeff Ream

it's not "folding" - it will be back after 1 season break

Easier said then done

But as we saw in 2011, his inner angels are stronger than his inner demons.

Actually, according to something GH said previously, their initial plans were to switch off between letting the angels win and letting the demons win on various nights, but the audience reaction was so strong and so much was read into the angels' victory that they ending up sticking with that. External pressures won - not inner angels/demons.

Will you spend any time at ST? Was your son at the wine tasting? There was another 10 brass hanging out mostly trumpets and Mellos...

External pressures from Drum Corps fans made GH fold to that sentiment ? Hmnn... I hear ya, but I'm not so convinced of that, Eleran. If GH thought the judges would prefer the Demons to win, he'd have gone with that ending, and if the fans did not care for that decision, then they could choke on it. ( haha!) Thats my sense on how he thinks, anyway.

Holy Bass Cadets 2016 (from March camp!)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VrgxtLkAMzI

Hadn't seen this one before... :augen51:

This, is simply incredible.

It used to be that Bass #1 (small bass) was the one who played like he was carrying a snare drum. But, with this line, even Bass #5, the lowest drum with the "softest" drum head and most difficult to play rudiments on, is playing like he's got a pair of snare sticks in his hands.

Honest to God, I haven't seen a drumline this talented in, like, EVAH! And, as the_Kid says, they're really challenging SCV's drumline for "tastiness".
