Netflix has been hawking The Corpse Bride the past few weeks so my movie group watched it together tonight.  I linked them The Academy and they loved it.  

That show is still such a charming moment.  Unchained Melody still yanks your heart right out and you cheer when they're reunited.

They caught lightning in a bottle that year.  I’d love to see them do it again.

This was such a wonderfully designed show from Academy , with a theme that was coherent and with music selected well and written well . The ballad was well performed , and the soloist nailed it at Finals

There was no chop and bop in “Unchained Melody.” They let the song go on as written. And that soloist was gold.

He was.  I think I remember he went to BD the next year. I heard he was one of triplets because I thought I was going crazy when i saw his brother playing solos in Academy and his brother in BD.

I heard twins, but yeah, he went to BD the next year.

Unchained was the closest we've had to an 80s-style ballad closer in decades...absolutely gloriousl

I was actually happier that show made finals than I would've been had BD won and gotten that three-peat.

And I have NEVER seen the kind of crowd love they got just entering the field for retreat....never!

I read somewhere that there are the two brothers and a sister triplets.  The sister has no interest in drum corps.
