Bossop
I am looking for historical information about St. Joseph's Cadets of Newark, NJ to be used in a future article in Drum Corps World. Please E mail me at: artandmarykel@verizon.net Thanks, Art Kellerman
ajlisko
Check out the Osmond Post Cadets (PA) website or Holy Name/Garfield Alumni site ... I think they both have St. Joe's info under "worth competitors" from that era ... or, you could always reach out to Harry Hazelwood who played there prior to them breaking up ... :-)
standy
St.Joseph's " Ironbound" Cadets, a section of Newark. Competed against them in 60's in Garden State Circuit.
ironlips
Andy, Wasn't Tommy Martin connected with them as well? I seem to recall him mentioning St. Joe's in that regard.
2B or not 2B
Just made me think of Newark The Drum Corps City of: Blessed Sacrament "Golden Knights" "St, Lucy's Cadets" "Woodsiders" St. Joe's (Cadets) Ironbound St, Rose of Lima "Imperial Lancers" They could hold a 5 Corps contest, and not even have one from out of town. MikeD
Plus St Martin's Troubadors, a GSC corps I competed against in 68/69.

Mr. M was definitely in St. Joe's along with Harry, Swan, JoJo and PeeWee Todaro, Genero, Cluna, and a host of other ultra talented players ... taught by none other than Hy Dreitzer :-)
