DrumManTx
Just because you have the quality to make crap sound acceptable doesn't mean you should select crap in the first place. Mahler, Bruckner, Strauss, Sibelius, Delius, Vaughan Williams, Bax, Janacek, Hindemith, etc., etc. ... but no. They go with the guy posting on Facebook a selfie while grabbing his junk in his underwear. I'm not a huge fan of him at all, but if BD can find a way to make his music work, why not? Chances are it'll be 100 times better than the original.

I think the "crap " as you put it is very subjective
flammaster
It's the drum solo and only takes one part of the melody which I doubt was actually written by him.

Really never cared for him BUT within 5 seconds of that show I loved it Edited May 30, 2016 by GUARDLING
Eleran
One mans crap is another's buffett . Does the saying "You are what you eat" come into play here?
GUARDLING
Does the saying "You are what you eat" come into play here? or there's a real talent making crappy happy. Love when I see that and hear that Ive learned over the years NOT to pass judgement until I have seen it. Most always a pleasant surprise. Well not always..lol I have also seen some the so called classic shows, well lets say not live up to the expectation. Then again expectation is a hard thing to live up to at any level. Eleran
Time will tell. The need to appear relevant by co-opting what the youth are up to is certainly nothing new. In 1971, 27th Lancers were playing "Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?" (came out on the album in 69, but released as a single in Autumn 1970). I wonder, though, if 45 years from now, as many people will remember this Bieber song as do the Chicago hit. I dont think BD is doing this for it's members BUT to answer your question YES probably. Remember we aren't the ones listening to this person or adding to his huge success. You remember those things as I do only because we lived the era. Many from today have no idea about what we remember but will remember what they lived. Just a normal thing.

littlejaw
That song title has me going "does anybody even know what song this is?" It's a really good Chicago song, not a band for everyone, but definitely great stuff in my opinion.
