2016 Emerald City Music Games – Drum Corps Planet/Drum Corps World Cov

Recommended Posts

I'm very jealous of Garfield and Kevin and everyone else who will be there. This sounds like a fabulous show with strong hosting and lots of fun. Enjoy! (Go Troop!)

This really is a delightfully we'll run show.

BTW, thumbs up on the mobile tickets!

All right. I don't see a silly title thread, so THIS IS IT!!!!

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Dublin, Ohio, and the 2016 Emerald City Music Games! My name is Kevin Gamin, Managing News Editor of Drum Corps Planet, and I will be providing LIVE From the Stands coverage of tonight's performances!

Tonight's corps, in order of performance:

7:10 p.m. Cincinnati Tradition - Cincinnati, OH

7:27 p.m. Genesis - Austin, TX

7:44 p.m. Legends - Kalamazoo, MI

8:01 p.m. Pioneer - Milwaukee, WI

8:18 p.m. Intermission

8:48 p.m. Troopers - Casper, WY

9:05 p.m. Blue Stars - La Crosse, WI

9:22 p.m. The Cavaliers - Rosemont, IL

I am sitting in section B, row G, seat 8, just inside the 25 on Side 2. Depending on the crowd size, I may move higher after intermission.

I'll post pictures of my vantage point shortly. Until then, let's get ready for a show!

We're getting some decent wind gusts tonight. Guards may be a little challenged.

Tradition has four guard, six pit, one drum major, twenty one brass, and twelve marching percussion.

Slow tempo with percussion and synth bass to start. Baritone soloist is revealed on the 50 as the guard moves out from in front of them.f

Three contras in front of me but I hear the bass in the pit more. Either the contras need to play out more or they need to turn the bass down.
