Next show: Dixon on August 3.

It appears some tiers have formed among the corps who will be at championships:

1. BDB and SCVC

2. Legends, Spartans, and Genesis

3. Music City and 7th Regiment

4. Gold, Guardians, Raiders, Louisiana Stars, and Shadow

5. Impulse

6. Colt Cadets and River City Rhythm

7. Stentors

Will the corps stay in these groupings, or will any of them break into another level?

Guardians haven't been scored for more than a week, but given that they were exactly five points behind Genesis when those two corps last appeared together, they'd still be in the fourth tier if they improved at the same rate. I wonder, though, if they'll actually be using all those yellow radioactive material barrels on the field, if they'd see a notable jump in G.E.

quality of design and consistency of performance are making open class much more fun to watch, in some cases more so than Worlds.

Quality has exploded since around 2012. Colt Cadets have a much stronger product this year in my eyes, and are still about where they usually are.

Lord help us when corps like Columbians, Southwind, Battallion, Golden Empire, ect. Decide to come out to Indy. It'll be a really exciting blood bath!

Ranked by latest score, with no weighting. Keep in mind all the usual caveats about the dangers of comparing scores from different shows.

I bet the last thing Genesis expected after San Antonio was to be looking up at Legends and Spartans. Did they peak in front of a pretty much hometown crowd?

Other questions....

It's an even year, so that means Blue Devils B win, right?

Who raises performance levels amongst the next tier to grab the bronze like Spartans did last year?

What will it take for Music City to break into that tier next year? Certainly isn't membership nor the amount of time on the road.

Is this the Raiders swan song? After barely making it out on the road again this year (Exec Dir resigning, then not resigning...) things are bleak - especially when the corps loses the support of its board of directors.

Can Guardians jump back in and surge over the last few days? Don't count them out for top 7.

Lastly, I hope all the members, instructors, administrative/support teams and fans enjoy the Michigan City experience.....is it possible to replicate the small town environment with decent sized stadium elsewhere?

Whatever you've read about the Raiders, is not a swan song. They did some restructuring to ensure their existence for many years to come and have their eyes set on moving up the ranks. The membership morale is better than its ever been, and the staff are gelling like it never has before. That corps is laying the groundwork to grow and be more successful than they ever have been.

Vanguard Cadets seem to have the show, they've been on top or tied with Blue Devils B in GE the entire season, just can't seem to get the performance captions close. Still wouldn't count them out. Think it's definitely down to those two with an an advantage to BDB.

Man, Louisiana Stars with a HELLUVA swing. Only .1 ahead of Shadow on Tuesday and 1.6 behind Gold and then the next day over 3 ahead of Shadow and .5 ahead of Gold. Dang!
