Brigand Posted July 7, 2016 Author Share Posted July 7, 2016 Genesis will not be attending Open Class finals, but will be attending World Class prelims (not sure which finals you're wanting to know about). DCI's schedule doesn't list any corps as participating in Open Class Finals because, strictly speaking, DCI doesn't know which twelve corps will qualify at O.C. Prelims. Here are the 16 corps who are scheduled to appear at the Open Class Prelims: Blue Devils B Colt Cadets Genesis Gold Guardians Impulse Legends Louisiana Stars Music City Raiders River City Rhythm 7th Regiment Shadow Les Stentors Spartans Vanguard Cadets Which means these 9 corps are not planning to attend: Battalion Blue Devils C Columbians Golden Empire Heat Wave Incognito Southwind Thunder Watchmen I think that if those corps were at the O.C. Championships, that at least Columbians and Golden Empire would make it to Finals. But I'm glad they're taking it slow, and presumably building their financial base, before going on the longer tour. It appears that California O.C. corps, two of whom saw Northwest corps for the first time this year, were slightly overscored on the holiday weekend. At the moment, Battalion, who completed their first season tonight, is tied for tenth place with Legends. It probably won't last long: after six days off, Legends returns to competition tomorrow in South Carolina.
