new endings

Recommended Posts

From Hops posts, sounds like Cadets are working on one right now.

Word is two new statues will be added to the wedding cake: a bride and a groom. They'll come to life at the end of the show when the combined trombone French horn ensemble accompanied by the electronic violin plays "The Bride Cuts the Cake" and on finals night they'll actually cut the cake and we'll all leave Indy with a snack.

I would imagine almost every corps is editing, tweaking, or completely re-writing their ending among other parts of their shows. Keeps things interesting and exciting. Can't wait for Friday and Saturday on DCI Live.

You know what would be cool? It could never happen, but if all of the drum could shut down for the week before finals week, put all their finishing touches on their shows, and then bring 'em all to Indy for Thursday at the same time. That would be pretty incredible.

Not a good idea. There is a revenue machine in place that needs to continue for DCI and the corps to be healthy. The members get antsy with too much time off. It's not a good thing for the marchers. They need focus, incentive, and they need to get out and show off what they learn each day. Too many days off without a show can actually hurt a corps.

Related to this thread, has any corps ever changed an opener, especially INSTEAD of a closer? What about a middle section?

If I'm not mistaken, the Cadets in 2000 changed the ending drill to the opener. Tekk?
