patrick2460
So I've gotten to thinking over the past couple of days how the scheduling of these corps effects their performance scores. With OC, competition effects the rehearsal days even more so than WC because of the fact that you are often going on first or close to it. Looking at just five corps: SCVC- 17 shows BDB- 17 Shows Genesis - 24 Shows Spartans - 13 shows Legends - 18 shows I'm wondering where the balance is of the correct ratio of rehearsal/performance. It seems like 17-18 shows, based on the scores right now across the board. Perhaps Genesis would have been better served by doing a shorter tour, with more time to rehearse? Fangirl71
The same argument could be made with more performances, they get more opportunities to get judges feedback, make changes to improve the show and improve scoring.

And possibly they are trying to demonstrate financial strength and the ability to run a World Class schedule.
Kamarag
And possibly they are trying to demonstrate financial strength and the ability to run a World Class schedule. This is actually a major component of the World Class review and approval process. Having taught an Open Class corps extensively doing the World Class tour, I can tell you that while your rehearsal day is indeed shorter, you learn to maximize your efforts in terms of design, execution, and risk vs reward. I actually enjoyed it very much. It certainly presents unique challenges. Edited July 31, 2016 by Kamarag
C.Holland
It's tough depending on where you're based. If their are more shows to easier travel to you can get more opportunity without the financial impact. Otherwise you take what you can get and afford to go to. OC only shows don't have a payout. So that affects some groups reasoning for travel early in the season. But otherwise your normal day is between 3 and 6 hours.

Do OC Corps receive anything in a mixed show ??
