ShortAndFast
The sideline interviewer's first name is Trish. I feel like she was a guard member several years back, but I'm not sure. Agreed about Pitts. Maybe should write material for the other two. And while I wouldn't object to negative comments, what I really want is specifics. For instance, on more than one occasion in the past, DeLucia has described Crown's percussion as a weakness, but no effort was made to explain to the audience why that is. More specifics would be great. I think that again speaks to the need to get some new faces on the program, as you need someone closer to current program design to really speak confidently about the details of each show. N.E. Brigand
Sadly I've already heard rumblings in Indy of one corps not competing next year and one reorganizing may fold. Augh! It's this sort of information that makes me so mad at people who sarcastically post "But drum corps is dying" any time there's a little good news. N.E. Brigand
It's a chalice, right? My take on that form has been that it's not just a chalice, it's the chalice.
Tobias
No don't succumb to that thinking. The Cadets are getting full credit. A consequence of being under the gun on show design all season is that in the end, your show is perhaps technically less rehearsed than the rest. It's also not fair to the Cadets to say that they don't get credit because others are getting credit. This kind of competition doesn't have winners and losers in the classic sense of zero sum competition. There are winners (great shows, performed well), and then there are big winners (better shows, performed as well or better). Your Cadets are great... the placement is an outcome of late preparation on the design, which also influences performance prep. Also, don't let this short a full appreciation of others... that's just bitterness. They were under BD by 0.1 in music on Monday and 1.5 over Cavies in music and had solid rehearsal days of 15 hours cleaning the following several days so not buying the 5th in music. I get the changes made in late July but they clean up very fast and the music changes weren't huge, more visual. If GE judges love slides and what Bloo is doing, great, it's a solid corps but don't hammer Cadet brass and percussion because you don't love the show concept, that's why we have captions.. Yes, and the music they are playing is "take this cup away from me for I don't want to taste its poison". Nice moment for the Scouts. littlejaw
You are NOT alone in this. Blue Devils were amazing tonight. They should win. Hands down!!! I think it's not a hands down affair, BUT I think they should win too. Their level of GE is about a tenth better in my opinion over Bluecoats. But I think the Bluecoats are about 2 tents better in music. But from field level, Blue Devils look about 4 or 5 tents better visually. But we will see who has the best run on finals night. NakedEye
Glad to see that I'm not the only one seeing the dirt in BD's guard. This group doesn't seem to be up to par with their past guards. I don't notice them as much this year. As much as I like the spin-through-the-props thing when it works, it was a complete disaster last night. People were late, one person missed half the spins, I think somebody dropped, and they pulled them back through the opening at different times. It is really cool when it goes right, and the work is really tricky to master, but each show it is a bomb waiting to go off. That section is either a gold star or train wreck - no middle ground.

luv4corps
Did anyone else out there in Big Loud and Live Land experience bad sound? When they showed clips of past shows, the audio was WAY better than the live broadcast. I may not even go next year because the sound was so disappointing compared to last year.
