Popular Post 2000Cadet
All I can say is the Bluecoats' staff is incredible for coming up with shows year after year that have consistently driven the crowd bonkers and giving each year's members something memorable. I account for 15,999. :) I know my mom loves Broadway so I showed her this and she picked up the Fosse stuff SUPER quick from the look and choreography stuff. She loves it. ALSO found out she knows/likes Zappa and identified Zomby Woof within like 10 seconds. She gets +100 cool mom points and I think she's a Bloo fan club member now. As I sit here this morning (with over 25k views now) putting in my share of them....I keep going back to the last 3 minutes of the show!! I did not realize how cool I personally liked this upon the completion of the premiere night theater broadcast!! That last minute with the 2 trumpets in the front and the low brass trucking down that "jagged line" to the hit at 11:11....AWESOME STUFF!!! I think I'll take the short 3 hour drive to Pittsburgh Tuesday so I can experience this live :)

rpbobcat
There have been a number of comments about the Bluecoats "Channeling" Fosse I agree that the guard uniforms and some of the choreography is pure Fosse. But,when I first saw the corps, all I could think of was "Clockwork Orange". Based on the comments from some if the people sitting near me,I wasn't the only one.

I think it's intentionally a Fosse/"A Clockwork Orange" combo platter. The bowler uniting the theme. I'm channeling more Sally Bowles than Alex the droog however...
