Note that they're NOT epees....gotta stand up for my sabre peeps, y'know.

Interesting fencing coffee cup:

-- picture of a epee: Aim for the Hand

-- picture of a saber: Off with their Heads!

Last night's "same day" ratings for the 11PM telecast were the highest to date for the Age 15 - 24 demo. So few people in older age groups watched that the median age was 22. I noted when the first episode aired that the demographics were older.

Generally, the show picks up a decent percentage of viewers beyond the first day. Last week, the audience more than doubled.

Quite a few older viewers were watching the World Series.

This old lady was watching the Cubs last night. I watched episode 5 this am on Hulu.

It's very telling that even drum corps fans are not watching this show.

Or, if they are, have nothing to say about it.

I noticed in the last episode we catch snippets of BD's music but they are still using stock music for Cadets. It does look like they overlay the stock music with actual drum line performance.

They talk about scores in this episode, but they don't show us any.

To me this episode was the best so far. It highlighted how hard these kids work and perform. The injuries they sustain and sickness they get throughout the season BUT still go out to perform. It's interesting how one "hole" is challenging to the corp. The design staff really counts on all performing. Unlike team sports there is no one to fill in at the last minute.
