84BDsop
Kanstul is reporting that Zig passed today."Today the world of instrument making has lost a legend, an innovator, a great man. We are sad to announce that Mr Zigmant "Zig" Kanstul ( 1929 - 2016) has passed away this afternoon in his home." #### it....2016 just HAD to take the greatest horn designer ever. RIP, Zig...the K-20 was the best horn I ever played.

TomPeashey
True story Early 90's while I was director of Rochester Crusaders, Scott Shyne had an amazing middle voice solo... at DCA championships - after our performance but before retreat, Ziggy found Scott and complimented him on one of the best mellophone solos he'd ever heard... he then promptly handed Scott a brand new Kanstul Mellophone and says it'll sound better on this... I'm sure Scott still has that wonderful instrument. Drum corps owes a lot to Ziggy Kanstul...
