No change in placement, but scores improved for all corps who competed, including a big jump for Music City.

Update: I mixed up the Ogden scores. Battalion jumped ahead of Columbians, who slipped slightly. Thanks to shofmon88 for catching my error.

No corps compete on Thursday, but a bunch do on Friday, including two making their seasonal debut.

You have Battalion's and Columbians' Ogden scores switched. Battalion came out on top, and achieved their highest score ever.

Huh. Guess I was tired. I'll fix it now. Thanks! (And congratulations to them.)

Apologies to Watchmen. For a week, I've had them listed behind Spartans. Fixed in all relevant posts. And now to see how they did tonight.

Lots of interesting scores. Southwind edges out Louisiana Stars. Vanguard Cadets get close to Blue Devils B. Golden Empire is about 7.5 pts. back from the California leaders, which means that Battalion and Columbians would be about 8 pts. back (remember that tomorrow). A bunch more scores coming tomorrow.

Next shows:  Leicester and Bellflower on July 16

Congratulations to The Battalion and Columbians, whose seasons concluded tonight in Denver, finishing strongly. Here's hoping in a few years both corps feel ready to tour a little more widely, either to the California O.C. championships or to the big show in Michigan City.

Speaking of the California finals, those are tomorrow. Gold rejoined the group and picked up better than where they left off. BDB improved by nearly three points in one day.

It looks like Watchmen's previous best score ever was 55.700 in 2015; they easily beat that today in Escondido.

Music City's score has been bouncing up and down a lot; tonight in Georgia they went up again.

I enjoyed the Columbians show. Very well done. That corps is going places.

The Battalion was exceptional. One year as a SoundSport, and in their second season as an Open Class corps... yet they're only a few members shy of full strength, and they sound like a World Class group. Their show design was the perfect difficulty, and easy to communicate. Whatever this group is doing, they're doing right. I hope they continue to build on what they have.

Congratulations to Blue Devils B, the 2017 SoCal champions.

Also to Golden Empire, Watchmen (with their best score ever, by far), Incognito, and Blue Devils C on the conclusion of their seasons.

And to The Company for taking first place at Leicester, their last contest before touring to DCI at the end of this month.

Another all O.C. show tomorrow in Virginia, with the five corps who competed in Alabama and Georgia being joined by Spartans and Stentors.

Are they shipping all their equipment to the U.S.? Or are they borrowing any instruments while they're here?

And are all their members traveling or will we see a reduced corps here? In the Woking performance, I count 34 horns, 15 pit, 13 battery (5/3/5), and 25 guard, for a total of 87. That's already on the small side for a top corps in DCI's Open Class. And I feel that their field coverage at any given time is noticeably less than the top O.C. corps. On the other hand, they sound great (could use less narration, though), and they're already very clean, musically and visually.

Hi Guys

I am the Tour Director for THE COMPANY and wanted to give you a few answers to questions

We have just had our final show DCUK show prior to our visit over to the USA and scored 77.45 which put us in first place over Kidsgrove Scouts who scored 76.90 (We know the scores are not comparable for the DCI system)

The only thing we are bringing with us are our costumes as we have managed to organise all the instruments and electronics and speakers via Rhythm X the Indoor Ensemble as they perform on Pearl / Adams who endorse us also and we are using their trailer

Roland have kindly supplied 2 x FA-08 synths, ON2 have provided drum wraps, Remo are supplying our heads, Vic Firth our sticks and mallets and Colemans all our air beds, sleeping bags, pillows and one gallon water jugs

We are working with the guys from Racine Scouts who will bring a team in to liaise with our catering crew to help feed the members and provide items we are short of

Housing wise we are staying in Schools prior to Michigan City when we are at the Indiana National Guard building

We have a busy schedule of rehearsals, World Class shows, free day and obviously Open Class shows which is our priority and we are also taking part in SoundSport and DrumLine Battle

We arrive 31 July into JFK and leave Aug 14

31 July arrive JFK

1 Aug Rehearsal West Milford High NJ

2 Aug Clifton NJ World Class Show

3 Aug Free Day NYC

4 Aug Allentown PA World Class Show

5 Aug Avon Lake OH Open Class Show

6 Aug Rehearsal Michigan City

7 Aug Michigan City Open Class Prelims

8 Aug Michigan City Open Class Finals (Hopefully)

9 Aug Indianapolis DCI I&E

10 Aug Indianapolis World Clas Prelims

11 Aug TBC dependant on what happens Thursday

12 Aug SoundSport and DrumLine Battle

13 Aug Banquet Hard Rock Cafe

14 Aug Travel home

We cannot wait to come over and meet everyone and make friends and create some memories for a lifetime

I cannot tell what an undertaking this has been for our group financially and logistically because although we are open age we are have a lot of younger members in and our mission has been to reduce the age of the group (in 2014 we had 74 members with an average age of 26.9 we now have 92 members with an average of 22.5) that said this has been a dream for our organisation to represent the UK and everyone is so excited

We are marching the following this year

36 Brass (12/8/12/4)

13 Battery (5/3/5)

15 Front Line

26 Guard

2 DM

Thanks for reading guys and we look forward to seeing you all out there
