Drum Corps and 4th of July celebrations

Recommended Posts

Hoping we can take a break from competitions and share videos of the many corps adding their talent and beauty to local 4th of July celebrations.  Please add videos as you become aware of them!  This was on Music City's FB page this morning from a Sunday parade in Wisconsin.

Check out Music City performing "Stars and Stripes" as it marches around the town square in East Troy, Wisconsin. Happy Independence Day a little early!

Cadets slated for Bristol, RI parade before heading to Lynn, MA for tonite's contest.

Horn sectionals standing knee deep at high tide tends to be a tradition with Cadets at Bristol. Pizza from Boston's North End usually follows Lynn contest.

The Open Class Colt Cadets will appear in the Skokie 4th of July parade.  The line up includes the Wilmette Community Band and the South Shore Drill Team.

Meanwhile in Evanston, lawn chairs along the Central Avenue parade route could not be placed until 6AM Saturday July 1, for the July 4 parade, per city ordinance.

I marched in that one when there used to be a show at Evanston high school.

So I'm still hoping that we will start getting some cell phone videos of corps marching/participating in 4th of July parades and festivities today.  But until that happens, here's a great video of Spirit of Atlanta in Bristol, 4th of July, 2014 whipping the crowd into a frenzy with a great rendition of "Georgia".  Enjoy!
