Where do scores come from?

Are they based on if the judge understands your design, or are they judging on content, execution and achievement. I see a lot of people say, I'm not sure what their show is about...so, is it that or is it how they perform It?

I bet you're sorry you asked.

It's all good. Some of the responses were quite funny. I don't take things too serious.

They come from the small antechamber in the bowels of every DCI event, leading into the sulfur pit/khaki sweatshop.

Philip Henslowe: Mr. Fennyman, allow me to explain about drum corps scoring. The natural condition is one of insurmountable obstacles on the road to imminent disaster.

Hugh Fennyman: So what do we do?

Philip Henslowe: Nothing. Strangely enough, it all turns out well.

Hugh Fennyman: How?

Philip Henslowe: I don't know. It's a mystery.

(Apologies to Tom Stoppard)

It's pronounced Ur-en-us, not Ur-anus :)

I think both are acceptable, but the former is preferred by academicians who get tired of having their lectures interrupted by giggles.

But hey, it's Uranus.  I'm not going to tell you how to pronounce it.
