Definitely agree that Crossmen should have topped Phantom in brass achievement, and by no small amount. This may be a literal case of performance order having an effect. Maybe it was the feed, or the mic placements, but it again sounded like PR was marching 10 less trumpets. Esp in the first half of their show. Both are great live. And they have different kinds of shows and styles. Glad Vanguard is on top tonight, because for me, their show is fresher and just plain more interesting. But it is tough not to get a kick out of what the Bluecoats are doing.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't think they're that much better than Scouts and Crossmen.

jjeffeory
...and they BOTH broke 80 tonight! I love these two shows to death!
Mead09
Good result for SCV tonight Congratulations ! Last years Bluecoats show was fresh and new and this year is basically the same show with different props. (Can't blame them, it won in 2016!) BD Gold, (Amazing corps and show!) SCV Silver (Super Improved, look out 2018!) and then Bloo or CC Bronze (Great corps with great shows) My prediction for 2017! In any event, its a good, competitive year.
Poppycock
BD will top both Bloo and SCV. Think about that for awhile.
drumcorpsfever
Amazing that SCV won overall while being .3 BEHIND in percussion.

" in second on a lark, and was really tickled when it happened.
mirrormen
Comparing Crossmen brass to PR: Slower tempos, Less moving while playing, less articulation variation, less range per instrument, less musical demand (if any exist at all), less key variance, less frequency of physical demand. I could add more.
