BLUECOATS Open Rehearsal Aug 2

Recommended Posts

Didn't get enough of the BLUECOATS live Monday night in Dublin?  Here's another chance to experience "Jagged Line" for those of you within driving distance of Newark, Ohio.  Wednesday night, August 2nd, the Bluecoats will be holding an "open rehearsal" at Newark High Schools White Field.  The evening full ensemble block will run from 7:00-10:00.  A run of the show will take place about 9:30.  No tickets sold or required, but a donation of $3 for students and $5 for adults would be appreciated.  The funds raised will be split between the Bluecoats and the Pride of Newark Marching Band.

The Bluecoats souvie stand will be set up and the NHS band boosters will operate concessions.  This is an important rehearsal for the corps so those attending will be asked to be respectful (quiet) at all times.  Feel free to go nuts during the show run :cheer:  Since it is a rehearsal, the corps will NOT be in uniform.

Last year's open rehearsal attracted 2,000 spectators.  Seating is first come-first served.  Parking will be via the CHURCH STREET gate...not the 11th STREET gate.  There is handicap parking behind the home side of the stadium also off Church Street.

Ah- I guess I figured they were at Newark HS last nite too ?   Was it a closed rehearsal ?

It was just not promoted. The usual Spring Training die hards were there.

Just to let everyone know...looks like a storm will move into Newark anytime now.  Hopefully it will move out quickly and be the end of it, but IF it appears there will be more rain during the evening the "Open Rehearsal" will be canceled.  There is no way the Bluecoats could use their electronics or their stage prop.  If that's the case they plan to pack up early and get a head start to their next housing site in Maryland.

I will try to post here about 6:00 with an update.
