just borrow BACs fire from last summer if they didn't sell it some band.

Gee. these noobies.

BITD when DCI did Championships in Montreal, PQ on August 15th, we didn't have any heaters as it snowed for sound tests in the Olympic Stadium. DCI has gotten so Texas. They want everything 125 degrees Fahrenheit.

Wanting to be warm is a Texas thing?

Ha ha, funny.  A little exaggerated but the point is taken.  Cold weather though can't bode well for auditions.  At least for a fair read on a students abilities.

This. However, auditions are the least worry of most of the 120 kids on the field for our show...they have been working on it since August camp but are not used to the cold, (given the weather trend to this point,) and are anxious to perhaps do better than where they placed last year.

No matter what, I'll be there to help them stay warm, or cool off, or whatever "noobs" do this weekend.

yes, you are correct about the exaggeration in that there are many indoor, heated spaces at the stadium which also will be in use.

Well, ok there  is Carolina Crown's Inferno and SCV's Devil's Staircase both which were hellish productions about warm weather.

Several seasons back, a corps for Canton had a show with a mini-theme of "When Pigs Fly" (flags and all.)

Well may I suggest that Cadets this year may be starting season  with "When Hell freezes over," (ha, ha.)

Hopkins expresses both hopes and concerns on corps FB interview for tonight and will be continued tomorrow night at 8.  He states that weather will be cold but stadium has ample  heated conference rooms indoors. Guard will also use local h.s gym for toss-abilities.

Sunday corps' two hour drill block around lunch hour will be outdoors on the professional football teams' turf field in the stadium.(Various northern NJ weather sources slate 50 degrees at that time.)

Being able to adapt, show best effort, and being able to learn have always been Cadets traits.

Cadets will march 72 horns with 8 euphoniums; addition over 70 last year will be 2 more mellophones.

Excellent response to audition interest and registration. All the best to all.

Weather is a concern Saturday for USBands Nationals at the stadium. They are thinking of giving bands an hour in the tunnel to warm up and not use the parking lots if it is too cold. That would not help the guards though. It would change our departure time, for sure. We perform around 11'ish AM.

It's in the mid 30's right now north of Boston in the Merrimack Valley, and two college age kids just walked through our parking lot wearing shorts and a t-shirt, no coat or sweatshirt. Kids tend to run warm. It may well be the 21 and holding crowd that will be impacted by the cold and not the potential marching members. So if you want to be a Cadet, play well but also bribe the staff with thermal gloves and lots of coffee!:lle:

That will insure more bathroom breaks, ha, ha.

They'll be fine.

GH is just using the weather to sort those who really want to be there to make the line from those who come along for the ride. Somewhat like Harry Potter's sorting hat that these kids know from their youth.

More will be revealed tonite at 8 pm (or so) @ corps Fb interview.
