Cadets 2018

Recommended Posts

So GH said on his FB video today that all of the caption heads are staying the same for Cadets, and the Bobby Jones is still writing the drill....

Oh well.  Don't see their placement really changing much with that situation.

Don't give up hope yet. There may be some names and ideas he didn't announce yet because it is not yet Tuesday.

If they could add a new creative director/programme co-ordinator then that would help

Thought that was GH...Mr. micro-manage himself...

Is it, in your opinion, that the current caption heads lack the talent and vision to propel the activity forward or the carte blanche to be as creative as they might without interference by you know who?

You may have meant "the corps forward" since the caption heads responsibilities are to the corps first.

Applicants are encouraged to send their resumes to c/o Mr. George Hopkins, Executive Director of YEA Org. Allentown, Pa, . Include SSN, DOB, and next of kin.

Does anyone really think that The Cadets had the combination of talent and experience on the field last year to medal under any circumstances?  I don't.  So many of their MM's stepped up from C2 or lesser corps.  This was the perfect year to experiment, to push the envelope, to play to the crowd (and you had to be blind and deaf at finals not to think they succeeded on that last point).  Give Crusaders credit for doing the same thing.  If they return to a normal retention rate, which looks fairly likely since the kids had such a great corps spirit this year in spite of the negativity you see on these pages, they will improve (as will Crusaders as well).  And lest you think this staff doesn't have any heavyweights, I would invite anyone to listen to the audio recording of this year's performance and say that wasn't some major league kick-### brass arranging by Drew Shanefield.

Maybe Jeff's comments have something to do with horses... not sure though. Ask cappyhara.. he's seeing horses on here whenever there are " differing opinions" among the DCP'ers on here... lol

I see Cadets giving the staff more time to gel and the youngish corps they had more time to grow and gain experience
