Everyone can take a breather changes have already started happening!!! Tonight was an introduction to brand new ballad changes and some beginning closer stuff. More is definitely on the way.

Right...but that in itself is troubling. It's the road Cadets have been down the past few years; wholesale rewrites while everyone else cleans and tweaks. "Changes" aren't necessarily a good thing, especially if they're larger than minor adjustments. Layering is an entirely different process than rewriting. So, which changes are happening at the moment? If it's large changes, that's often a good signal that designers aren't happy with major parts of the show --- not a great spot to be in coming up on mid-season when everyone else is cleaning & adding.

Crown does this every year, so what's your point? Lol.

This is not Cadets! So there’s really no comparison. Most changes so far have been guard wise. There’s been some musical changes/additions but nothing major. Crown is still crown when it comes to changes.

Large rewrites & changes? No, they don't. They did it last year, but last year's show design was quite imperfect from the start and needed that. It wasn't an ideal situation. Relentless, Inferno, & E=mc2 were layered like crazy, but the skeletons of their show remained the same. I'm simply trying to find out which type of changes the poster is talking about....because if it's large rewrites, that's not a good thing. If it's tweaks and adjustments, that's quite normal. And again, layering is an entirely different (and positive) process.

Thanks for the clarification on which corps we're talking about. The poster told everyone to back off; changes were coming and implied that was a positive thing. I was trying to get to the bottom of the scope of these changes, because again, if they're large scale, that's decidedly NOT something to be excited about.

Love the show concept, the design is great but please incorporate the bones somehow.

How would they without drill rewrites?

The show didn't change drastically last year. The bones were there, they just layered practically everything. You can't compare years prior to last year because it's a completely different design team. They're doing things differently, and I'd say they'll more than likely be layering again until finals.

Any details on these?

I think you may be overreacting to the word change. They are making edits where need and doing the usual layering and tweaks to optimize the show. There are no wholesale rewrites and this is not the Cadets. Let's see what the actual adjustments are first. I would suspect the ballad change would be an edit and maybe some work on the outfits for the "Girls Club" featured horn section (Crown's term for them not mine).
