Phantom Regiment 2018

Recommended Posts

It's been a little while since I've been on but wow how the world has changed!!!

The most surprising are the conversations about change for Phantom...Its about time many are now voicing their concerns...having said that seeing Dan retire is a good thing for Phantom.  It can't be said enough about his influence on the corp.  I especially remember marching with him and then following his instruction when he became a staff member. Talent is an understatement when describing Dan.

After Phantoms finish in 2009, I felt it was time for a change.  That opinion hasn't changed, as I believed management staff changes were needed.  At the end of the day it's not personal but business.  Success is the bottom line especially when kids/families are paying to play (IMO).  In order to feed the system with paying members success is required.  How we choose to define success if different for everybody, but mine revolves purely around the music & power.  That is the Phantom Regiment.

I am hopeful for Phantoms future and success!

Finally, and I know this might be blasphemy but,  I am hopeful Phantom will venture into other types of music that border classical arrangements.

My college's wind ensemble performed this just recently. Fantastic piece.

I agree with everything you said, except I'd change the year to 2013.

He should forever be synonymous with helping to (leading the) shape the Regiment for better, and perhaps recently, for the not-so-great.

If Sheldon Apo and Kayne O'Brien bring their great skills from their work with the Cavaliers, and KOB with the Mandarins as well, this will be a new dynamic for the Phantomettes.

Whoever picked the cg staff seems to love Texas.

I think it's better if I just keep my mouth shut about this.

Just say it

A lot of young folks on the guard staff. Also, it seems to be a much bigger staff than I've ever seen associated with Regiment before. While I guess it could be "too many cooks," this would seem like a positive thing.

I'm not sure how involved George Staib is going to be, but that seems like an impressive resume.
