glory
Madison apparently will be have a female flugel this summer. Their announcement even uses the term "member." What do you know?

glory
Here's my question. If she's a member as the announcement seems to indicate, why just one?

Perhaps.... sometimes, it takes a while for a dam to fully break. LOL.
glory
I don't know. Doesn't the dam break when the water first flows through? Seems to me, if they're calling her a member, there's no going back. Either the dam has broken. Or someone picked the wrong word in a press release. Will she not be used primarily as a soloist with very little marching?
Tim K
The Facebook announcement said “featuring” which would make me think she will be used much the same way a young woman was used in “Carmen.” Perhaps this is a step towards going coed, but it may be just a one year choice. 1

Dams can leak for weeks, months... water flowing through.... without breaking. LOL. So... regarding the semantics of "member" or not... we'll find out at some point, right? Until then... perhaps we can just enjoy this moment and wish this young woman well? Edited February 26, 2018 by Fran Haring 4
N.E. Brigand
If the Scouts do eventually go co-ed, should they retroactively grant membership status to the female featured performers of 1971 and 2005?
