Several Cadet Alums, very close to the Corps, were even saying as recently as yesterday ( other social media ) that the YEA BOD were digging in their heels, and were not about to resign. DCI HQ stepped in, gave them the whatfor ( dismissal from DCI as an option ). YEA BOD was boxed in, had virtually no support anywhere, both Cadets alums. DCI and thus agreed to DCI's and Sean's demand. Thats what happened. Nobody is " trolling here ",( unless you are engaging in it with me) 4 Don't believe everything you read or even said...sometimes even alumni don't see the forest through the trees. I know I had an email on this last night ( very late or I would have mentioned it ) then another a little after 8 this morning. either way a good thing

If the member corps have to vote if Cadets are in or out. I would be careful. They won't go down alone and those who are vocal it may hit closer to home than they think. Monday was injection day ( treatment involves getting needles in my eyes). while i was in the chair, waiting on the surgeon to give me the injections, a member of the YEA board ( who I never met or heard of ) sent me several messages chewing me out for calling on the boards resignation. He continued this even after I explained to him where I was and what I was about to go through. Classy Treatnent went well . Four years of new breakthrough treatments have restored my vision! Let the healing process for The Cadets begin! i'd out the ######## publicly

Guessing marchers are not there for too many years for one thing. Yeah, while there are likely to be further revelations and some more fallout, this move seems likely to be seen by history as the turning of a corner. (I have no idea how they'll do competitively this year. Cadets fans should certainly steel themselves for the possibility of a rough season. Simply due to the fact that major organization changes often have unforeseen logistical implications.)

If Staff and members go about this the right way with the right attitude, bring their A Game, push, give of themselves... No idea on placement- but they'll bring a product people will enjoy to the field. That's what I look for when I buy a show ticket.

Popular Post Jeff Ream
2 hours ago, BRASSO said: Are you as mad with the Executive Director of DCI as you appear to be with me today ? ( for whatever reason ). The Indy Star reported YESTERDAY that Dan Acheson at DCI HQ said that any corps that is in non compliance with reporting rules to DCI can be subject to ( Exec. Director;s words ) " that group's dismissal ". It appears that TODAY, that the message was received loud and clear that the Cadets needed to essentially clean house. DCI HQ has apparently been in constant contact with the Cadets since this bombshell was dropped, has monitored their situation closely, and today we lean the YEA BOD has been ousted, and a new YEA BOD installed, and as such , any further discussion of a Cadets suspension or dismissal is now mute... oh and one final thing. If you are at all interested, a quick scroll back to my comments here on DCP the last 48 hours will confirm for you that I said that its ( my words ) " unlikely that the Cadets will be suspended, for a host of reasons"... and furthermore .. that I did not believe that ( again , my words ) that" any suspension of the Cadets seems warranted here at the moment ". So perhaps you might have me confused with somebody else here on DCP, because nowhere will you find me here on DCP suggesting that the Cadets should/ nor will be " suspended " from DCI. My comments regarding " suspensions " of Corps was wholly related to the question posed a few days ago on what authority does DCI have with Corps. The prevailing sentiment in some quarters on DCP here was " not much ". I responded to THAT , by stating that DCI has ( my words ) " much more authority " than what is being suggested by some here on DCP. I thus brought up the examples of penalties, including suspension, that DCI HQ. has imposed before when it sees fit. My comments were then bolstered with this, when the very Executive Director of DCI himself told the Indy reporter that failure to follow DCI rules can lead to that Corps " dismissal". No mention was made to the reporter on whether Dan A. needed other Corps votes on that before doing so. My comments above then TODAY ( above ) pointed out that DCI HQ has dismissed Corps from competition before with no votes taken, and on other occasions the Executive Director of DCI ( before Dan Acheson ) has even done a rules set aside in an unusual circumstances to allow a Corps to compete, and needed no votes from any other Corps either, to implement his directive. ok.....let's keep everyone's sanity here. YEA made the needed changes to start to correct many wrongs...and it will take a while. DCI is working with them. Old board gone. Hop hiding. So, let's stop worrying about what DCI may or may not do now that the situation is being addressed in the proper ways, and let's all work together to help this great organization and it's 2 drum corps succeed in ways they never imagined. That way I never have to stand on the street outside of J. Birney Crum Stadium again and hear kids say if they hadn't called their parents to organize a pizza party that they wouldn't have eaten that night. We never have to see an employee mocked for leaving a highly toxic office work environment. And never do we ever want to see anyone tied to this organization come forward with allegations of sexual abuse or unwanted advances. ( we won't be able to avoid old ones for a while unfortunately). oh...and going forward, when the kids get talked to by the adults about how to live your life, it's by people that ACTUALLY practice what they preach. 8
