Daave
If your health concerns required a Dr's care, you should be consulting that Dr, not anyone here. You say YOU feel you'd be ready. Again, if your were under a Dr's care, I'd start there and let your physician say you'd be ready.

This year however, I planned on taking off. But my home corps, Music City has offered me a spot in the baritone section again for this season to fill a hole, but at a cost of $1000. I would be starting July 3. I want to know some of your thoughts on this; would you take the spot if it were you? Do it. I’d give anything to be able to go back and march my final few years.
BD 79-82
FWIW, once heard an anecdote that said people on their deathbeds have more regrets about the things they didn't do than regret for things they did.
FTNK
You're a vet, I think you'll be able to learn the show okay. So don't let that get you down

However, my health has gotten exponentially better since then. I feel I would be ready. Can you find a good reason to not do it?
2muchcoffeeman
If the doc gives you the green light, carpe diem, dude. You'll never have this time again.
cybersnyder
I would do it, but that's mostly because I keep kicking myself in the --- because I missed my eligible years while in the Army and didn't realize that 21 was okay, I thought when you hit 21 you were too old, like the drinking age. So, I could have marched one year. Do it if your health really isn't an issue. Your health comes first.
dcsnare93
I marched seven years, taking one year off during that time due to health. I don't regret that decision. Your well being is more important. If it's something you really want to do, then I would consult your doctor and go from there. If it's learning the show that's causing you to hesitate, I wouldn't worry about that. Your corps will work you in when they feel your ready.
