For the second year in a row, the Fort Mill corps will team up with a highly-talented a cappella ensemble, for an encore performance at Sunday night’s DCI Orlando event, presented by Great East Music Festivals and Music Store. In last year’s encore, Crown teamed up with Liberty Voices, a group whose members often perform on the grounds of Walt Disney World. A number of the Liberty Voices are also involved in Voctave, which records and performs its own arrangements. Based in the Orlando area, Voctave has a penchant for Disney music. In 2017, the ensemble’s arrangement of “How Far I’ll Go,” from “Moana,” and its “Disney Princess Medley,” combined for more than five million views on YouTube. At last season’s event, Carolina Crowna and Liberty Voices joined forces to perform stunning arrangements of “America the Beautiful” and “Battle Hymn of the Republic.” Crown also performed “For Good” from the musical “Wicked,” as performed in its 2017 program, “It Is,” while the Liberty Voices performed their own arrangement of “This Land is Your Land.” “It was like, ‘wow,'”Liberty Voices singer Dirk Donahue said about performing with Carolina Crown last summer. “When it came together, it came together, and you could just see the grins on everybody's faces. My professional musician friends and singers here in this group were just blown away. Everyone's just grinning from ear to ear, me included.“ 2018’s edition of the encore performance with Voctave is expected to run along the same lines. The DCI Orlando event will kick off at Camping World Stadium at 7 p.m. ET on Sunday, July 8.
