DCI Southwestern Regional - July 21, 2018

This show is growing on me.  As per usual Crown, they are really starting to perform the heck out of it.

I have an "Out of Africa" event to attend in the coming weeks.  What a hit I'd be if I walked into the room rolling one of those fang/tooth props!

i got beast for about 3 mins of crown's show

i don't get ending on a major chord

but what do i know

loved the percussion throughout

What Crown shows in the past 10 years have NOT ended on a B-flat major chord?? That's like their signature now, since they haven't done a crown formation lately.

Crown’s hornline sounds incredible as always.

I just wish they’d quit it with the senseless runs and double tonguing passages every year. There’s nothing musical about it, sounds like a (very well done) warm up!

But it's so Crown..o..nian...?... Crown-like.

We could reduce all sorts of identifying corps traits to absurdity if we wanted to.

Cadets and pinwheeling drill, Phantom and their ballet etiquette, Cavaliers and their ostinatos, Bluecoats and their extended chords that go anywhere and nowhere all at the same time, BD and well... being pretentious in all ways possible.

It's good to be known for something.  It's all about having an identity to go with the name.
